Peer-reviewed FESSH preparation

Single-author exam preparation. Each question is reviewed against current literature before publication.

Who runs this

Mateusz Gładysz, MD, FEBOPRAS, FEBHS — Consultant Plastic and Hand Surgeon. The main professional site is at drgladysz.com — articles, procedures, the glossary, and clinical calculators. This site hosts the FESSH preparation questions only.

The question format

Every question follows the FESSH Diploma format: a single one-line clinical stem followed by five True/False statements. Choose TRUE or FALSE for each statement, then submit to reveal per-statement correctness, full explanations, and primary-literature references.

Each statement carries its own primary reference — usually a PubMed-indexed paper, occasionally a textbook chapter or guideline — and may carry secondary references where the evidence base warrants. References render below each explanation in the revealed answer panel.

Scoring

The site follows FESSH exam marking: +1 for each correct statement, 0 for blank, and −1 for incorrect. Clicking the same TRUE or FALSE button twice clears the pick — leaving an uncertain statement blank scores zero, which beats guessing wrong.

Per-question results show as a net score out of +5 maximum. Mock exams show a net score out of the maximum possible (typically +300 for a 60-question paper) along with a per-category breakdown and time taken. The pass mark on each mock exam, where shown, refers to net as a percentage of the maximum.

Peer review

Every question is reviewed against PubMed primary literature before publication: truth values are verified, explanations are checked for clinical accuracy, references are cross-checked for PMIDs and DOIs. New questions accumulate as drafts and are only published once that review is complete.

Errata

Spotted an error in a question, statement, explanation, or citation? Every question has a "Flag a possible error" link in its footer that opens a prefilled email with the question ID. Or write directly:

Errata reports are reviewed and replied to. Confirmed corrections update the question and the version number.

Progress

Per-question results and mock-exam attempt history are stored in your browser's local storage. There are no accounts, no servers recording your answers, no cookies, and no analytics tracking your responses. Clearing your browser data resets everything. The dashboard at your progress shows what you've attempted and how you're scoring.
